Welcome to Commitment. By using our app, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.
1. Description of Service
Commitment is a habit-tracking application that allows you to:
- Set health and fitness goals
- Subscribe to a monthly plan with a stake amount
- Earn back a percentage of your stake by meeting your goals
- Receive discounts on future subscriptions based on your earn-back rate
2. How Stakes and Earn-Back Work
Important: Your subscription fee is your stake. The "earn-back" is applied as a discount on your next month's subscription, not as a cash refund.
- You select a subscription tier based on how much you want to stake
- Each day/week you meet your goal, you earn back a portion of your stake
- At the end of each 30-day cycle, your earn-back percentage determines your discount
- Discounts are applied to your next subscription renewal
3. Subscriptions and Billing
- Subscriptions are billed monthly through your Apple ID
- Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
- You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID settings
- No refunds are provided for partial subscription periods
4. Goal Evaluation
- Goals are evaluated based on data from Apple HealthKit
- You are responsible for ensuring your health data is accurate and synced
- Evaluation occurs at the end of each day (daily goals) or week (weekly goals)
- Deleting a goal forfeits the stake associated with that goal
5. Promotional Discounts
- Earn-back discounts are applied as promotional offers on your subscription
- Discounts are calculated in 10% increments (10%, 20%, ... 100%)
- You must claim your discount before starting a new cycle
- Unclaimed discounts may expire
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Manipulate or falsify health data
- Attempt to circumvent the goal evaluation system
- Use the app for any unlawful purpose
- Reverse engineer or modify the app
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that:
- The app will be uninterrupted or error-free
- Health data will always be accurate or available
- You will achieve any particular health outcomes
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app.
9. Changes to Terms
We may modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States.
